Представлен клинический случай синдрома Рейе у взрослого мужчины, проходившего лечение в психиатрической больнице. В приведенном примере синдром Рейе развился у пациента с аденовирусной инфекцией при приеме препаратов нимесулид и ацетилсалициловая кислота. Заболевание протекало стремительно, с одновременным развитием острой печеночной недостаточности и острой энцефалопатии. Отмечены сложности диагностики данного состояния и обсуждены вопросы этиологии, патогенеза, лечения и прогноза.
